FAQs
About IV hydration therapy
-
IV therapy is a way of getting fluids into the body via the blood vessels, so that essential nutrients can be delivered to your body in the fastest way possible.
-
IV therapy is a fairly simple procedure. It involves a small tube which is called a catheter and a saline-based electrolyte solution that is customized to meet your specific needs. The blend of your choice will be placed on the catheter and once the IV line is inserted into your vein, the nutrients and fluids will be delivered directly to your bloodstream.
-
Overall, IV therapy is a safe routine procedure, well tolerated by most patients, which means that few people experience side effects during or after treatment. However, it’s important to receive treatment by medical professionals in a clean, safe environment with proper care. Without the correct experience, there is the possibility of pain or bruising or, in rare cases, an infection or inflammation of the vein. For this reason, it’s recommended that you take IV therapy with a professional company.
In Drip & Love all of our medical staff are properly trained and experienced specifically in IV therapy to ensure a quality procedure; providing you all the information about exactly which vitamins are delivered in your body. Our main goal is to provide a safe and comfortable experience.

An IV therapy session takes around 30 to 45 minutes, but can vary from person to person.
-
Although vitamin infusion is mostly beneficial and side effects are very rare, it can trigger certain reactions such as: constipation, skin rash or dermatitis, diarrhea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, headache or insomnia.
-
This mostly depends on the person, as some may be more sensitive to needles. When an IV needle is placed, it can cause some slight discomfort. You may feel a small sting or pinch for a few seconds when the needle is inserted in your arm or hand.
-
Pregnant women or people with chronic diseases should NOT get an IV infusion, especially when they suffer diabetes, hypertension or any renal disease.
-
We recommend getting an infusion once every two weeks to maintain your nutrient levels elevated.
-
Absolutely. Oral supplements must first pass through the digestive system, where they are metabolized before reaching the circulation. Additionally, age, activity level, illness, malabsorption issues, stress, and previous gastrointestinal surgery can also influence how well your body is able to absorb supplements and medications.
The ingredients in IV fluids are nearly 100% absorbed by your body because they are delivered directly into your bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system. This way your body uses the maximum amount of what it needs.
-
For basic dehydration symptoms you can start experiencing the effects after 20 minutes and feel considerably better after 1 hour. However, full effects can be noticed within four days to two weeks after treatment.
-
Yes, depending on which medication you’re taking. Upon arrival, our medical staff will gather information regarding your personal health history to ensure a safe experience.

It is not recommended to drink alcohol for about two hours after getting your IV infusion, as there is less of a chance it will take effect since alcohol slows down the absorption process. By drinking on the same day as IV vitamin treatment, you are essentially reducing its effectiveness.
To enjoy IV’s maximum benefits, it’s important that you take time to relax, eat well, and let your body recover from therapy.
